Why there is no cookie banner

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, consent is not required for a cookie that is strictly necessary to provide a service the visitor asked for. Our one cookie exists purely to make the contact form safe to submit, so there is nothing to consent to — and putting a banner in front of you would be theatre.

The moment we add anything that is not strictly necessary, you will be asked properly, before it is set.

What we deliberately do not use

  • No analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no alternatives.
  • No advertising or remarketing tags.
  • No social media pixels or share widgets that phone home.
  • No session recording, heatmaps or A/B testing tools.
  • No embedded video or maps.
  • One embed only — the status badge in the footer — and it is sandboxed so that it cannot set a cookie. See below.

You can verify all of this: open your browser's developer tools, look at the Network and Application tabs, and compare what you see with the table above.

The status badge

The footer of every page carries a small badge showing whether the Dorsko services are running. It is served by Better Stack, who host our public status page.

It is the only third-party frame on this site, and it is embedded under an HTML sandbox that withholds an origin from it. The practical effect is that it cannot set a cookie and cannot read anything from your browser — we have checked that loading a page stores nothing from them. What it does receive, unavoidably, is your IP address — the same as for any file requested from another host.

If you would rather it were not there at all, the badge is one setting for us, and the link beside it goes to the same place. Write to us and say so.

Fonts

The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. Loading them sets no cookie, but it does mean your IP address reaches Google as part of requesting the files. This is explained in the privacy notice.
