Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, or a browser with motion turned down.

What we have built in

  • A "Skip to content" link as the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
  • One <h1> per page and headings in order, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
  • Text alternatives on every image, and icons marked so they are not read out as noise.
  • Landmarks — header, nav, main, footer — and aria-current on the page you are on.
  • Breadcrumbs on detail pages, marked up as a navigation landmark.
  • Colour contrast checked against WCAG 2.1 AA for body text and controls.
  • prefers-reduced-motion respected: if your system asks for less motion, the animations stop.
  • Text that reflows and stays readable when zoomed to 200%.

Where we stand

We aim at WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We have tested the site by keyboard and against automated checks, but it has not been through a formal independent audit, so we are not claiming full conformance. Saying "fully accessible" without that audit would not be honest.

Known limitations

  • Some decorative background elements are not exposed to assistive technology by design.
  • The site is published in English only.
